Northern Durham is full of neighborhoods that, although older have a distinct character. These neighborhoods are also home to expansive and picturesque farms, as well as nature areas and city maintained parks. For those who love the outdoors, plan a hike along the beautiful river that sits at the banks of Eno River State Park and West Point on the Eno. Or, if you are a history buff, discover Civil War history by visiting the Bennett Place State Historic Site. This is the location of the largest troop surrender during the war, and it was this action that essentially ended the war.
